John Egan
Camp Director

John, a native of New City, NY moved to The Pines in December 2007 with his wife Ronna and their three children, Brendan, Molly and Kiera from North Carolina. Before taking over at The Pines, John served God in parish youth ministry for 10 years, most recently as youth director at St. Leo parish in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. John has a BA in English from Marywood University and a Masters in Pastoral Ministry from Caldwell College. John and Ronna dreamed of managing a Catholic camp and are overjoyed to lead this enthusiastically Catholic place. They believe wholeheartedly in the mission of The Pines and have blessed the camp with many gifts and talents over the course of the past six years. Their energy and passion are reflected everyday in the life of camp.  John loves salt water taffy, coaching baseball, and the New York Knicks.

Since the Egans have moved here, the family has increased by two!  They were blessed in November 2009 with Anna Elizabeth and again in September 2013  to introduce another baby girl into the world, Lydia Rose.  For the summer time The Egan family can be found answering to : Big Tuna, Tootsie, Captain Awesome, DeeDee, Special K,  and Minnie. Lydia’s name is still to be determined!

Madelyn Rodriguez
Summer Program Director

Madelyn‘s love for The Pines began in the summer of 2001 – her first year as a camper. Each summer after solidified her desire to one day be a counselor. That day finally came, and she realized a new dream. Madelyn knew she wanted to live at camp and make The Pines mission a large part of her life. In 2014 her passion for the faith and eagerness for adventure lead her to Wasilla, Alaska where she assisted in the creation and development of the state’s only Catholic camp. She returned to The Pines in the fall with a renewed zeal for camp ministry. Aside from camp, she enjoys road trips around Texas – often to visit her family in Dallas and her fiance in College Station. Most days you will find her wearing maroon and professing undying love for her Aggies. The only time she isn’t wearing A&M apparel is when she’s proudly wearing one of her numerous Pines Comfort Colors t-shirts from the Camp Store.

Bill Tuttle
Property Manager

Bill Tuttle, having worked at The Pines since 2005, definitely knows how to make the camp staff feel like a family. Bill worked with the Boys Scouts and 4-H groups for a number of years before coming to The Pines, and he is an integral part of our camp by always making sure that the needs of the camp and the staff are met. He is not the only Tuttle working on camp property. His wife Carolyn and their children, Anna, Ronald, Rita, Bill, and Karen work the horse program. Bill says his favorite part about The Pines is “watching the kinds enjoy and experience the outdoors and their ability to watch nature change daily.”

Ronna Egan
Camp Store Manager

Ronna Egan is more than the Camp Director’s wife and wonderful mother of five beautiful children, she is also a creative inspiration to camp and the Camp Store Manager. Having received her BFA in Interior Design from Marywood University, Ronna has put her creativity and experience to practice at The Pines through many renovations including the redesign of the Camp Store. Her favorite part about The Pines is the amazing staff and the fact that she doesn’t have to cook as often! Juggling her role as wife, mother, teacher, and Camp Store Manager, Ronna pulls it off seemlessly. She is looking forward to many years at The Pines helping kids grow closer to God.
