Summer 2015 applications are live!
Our church teaches that we all have a responsibility in the ministry of the church by our Baptismal call. In Lumen Gentium, The Light of the Nations, we learn that by working with the bishops and clergy, “the faithful who by Baptism are incorporated into Christ, are placed in the People of God, and in their own way share the priestly, prophetic and kingly office of Christ.” Our staff are living their Baptismal call, leading young people to build the Kingdom of God. (Not to mention, it’s a ton of fun getting messy playing with hundreds of kids all summer!)
Those who are new applicants or those who did not work Summer 2014 will need to have 3 reference forms completed.
Please, NO friends, peers, relatives, or current staff.
The counselor is the individual in whom we put the most trust. This person places the camper’s needs above all others during camp. This person must be fully committed to the teachings of the Catholic faith, and have a joyful heart! We’re looking for someone ready to help the kids have a whole mess of fun and the week of their lives! It is a position that requires a “camper centered” heart, a great sense of responsibility and a great sense of humor is a huge plus! The experience we share with the children at camp has a lasting affect on their lives, and that’s taken very seriously.
A special position of responsibility for those individuals that feel a calling to serve God by leading their peers. The goal for the senior staff team is to help the staff to lead young people in faith, fun, and friendship. The senior staff prayerfully ministers to the staff, helps plan the programming of the summer, and shapes the mission of camp by their servant leadership. Senior staff members must have worked a summer at The Pines before.
The Special Ops team at The Pines Catholic Camp keeps specific areas of camp running efficiently while being an example of Jesus’ love and joy to campers. The individuals that make up the Special Ops team work in a specific area of camp such as dining hall, health center, arts & crafts, camp store, office, maintenance, and ropes course, as a vital part of The Pines ministry. Throughout the summer this team prays together, supports each other, and works countless hours to glorify God in this ministry.
SWAT responsibilities include all the behind-the-scenes jobs that make camp run smoothly. The focus for this team is office work, dining hall, maintenance, health care assistance, camp store and activity preparations. The duties rotate during the course of the half summer session. The team lives and works in community and are supervised by the SWAT Coordinator. The work is humbling, exhausting and the team is constantly on the go! The SWAT team makes everything joyful in the knowledge that they are serving God by serving kids at camp.
